Caballo Loco Blanco No. 2 NV
Pale gold with green-yellow reflections. Lifted, aromatic nose of yellow peach, apricot, ripe pear, lemon zest, white blossom and honeysuckle, with a savoury background of bruised herbs, beeswax and toasted nuts from oak. Full-bodied and textured on the palate with vivid acidity, layered stone fruit, a creamy mid-palate and a long, saline, mineral finish. Drink now to 2030.

The wine is as intense as you would expect from an emissary from the arid land of the crusades, with the fragrance of balsam and savoury spices plus a top note of some dried herbs, but it manages to remain wonderfully fresh and appetising on the finish too after intense, ripe, quite complex fruit. L'Ormarins Brut Classique NV has eye catching vigorous bubbles. Typical yeast and cracker biscuit notes on the nose with lively citrus rind and a briny, maritime nuance also apparent. The mouth manages to be both refreshingly vibrant and dry at the same time. Bright effervescence with creamy lees richness from its time in bottle, with distinct brioche and sourdough toast notes vying with lively grapefruit and citrus flavours. Elegant, restrained, taut and thrilling, it’s beautifully poised yet equally flamboyant and exuberant! A gentle nutty note lingers on the long tail.
Boschendal Brut Rose NV
Boschendal Brut Rose NV, comprises of the Pinotage, the offspring of Pinot Noir and Hermitage, is carefully selected to complement Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in this blended Cap Classique. The grapes are selected from a variety of Boschendal's finest vineyards and harvested at lower sugar levels to retain a bracing freshness required in the base wine. After whole bunch pressing of the red grapes, the juice is bled off immediately and blended with 20% Chardonnay wine which results in a beautiful light salmon tint. Bright red berry flavours abound on the nose and palate, supported by an elegant mouth-feel and a mouth-watering, refreshing finish.
